Nonesuch PX Sherry Cask Single Cask Triple Grain Whisky  ($253)

The latest Triple Grain whisky expression from Nonesuch Distillery in Tasmania. Well worth a look if you haven’t tried the Nonesuch Triple Grain whiskies – not a common style in Tassie.

Archie Rose Stringybark Smoked Single Malt Whisky ($199)

The second in a two-part exploration, to be released in coming weeks, where one of the seven malts in the Archie Rose profile has been smoked with native stringybark wood.

Ned Whisky Single Barrel 03 Agave Finish ($119)

This is different. In their latest single barrel release, Ned have finished their sour mash whisky in casks that previously matured the company’s own Australian Agave Anejo spirit – a project that’s garnered a lot attention recently.

Coastal Stone Nor’Easter Single Malt Whisky ($99)

A new core range offering from Manly Spirits Co., predominately matured in large format (225-500 litre) ex-wine casks and ex-Bourbon casks. Great price, too.

The Bird Single Malt Whiskey ($200)

Now this is interesting. Sydney entrepreneur Mark Bouris (Wizard Home Loans, Celebrity Apprentice, etc) and business partner Andrew Nugent (Bird in Hand Winery) have just released their own Australian whisky brand, The Bird. Thankfully, the whisky hails from the always brilliant Fleurieu Distillery, so at least they’ve got something right.

Starward Munich Malt Single Malt Whisky ($179)

Staward’s latest Small Batch Program whisky. Munich malt was combined with Starward’s regular brewing malt, distilled and the spirit entirely matured in ex-Bourbon casks. Bottled at 55% as well. Sounds tasty.

Cape Byron ‘The Original’ ($120) and Chardonnay Cask Single Malt Whisky ($140)

First release bottlings from Cape Byron Distillery. Full details here.

23rd Street Distillery Single Malt Whisky Kangaroo Island Barley ($120)

The latest single malt from 23rd Street Distillery in Renmark, SA will soon be released. Barley was sourced from Kangaroo Island for this whisky, and the spirit matured in Bourbon casks.

Black Gate/Fleurieu From Country to Coast Blended Malt Whisky ($199)

The third collab bottling between Black Gate and Fleurieu distilleries. Had a sneaky try of this one already. Very, very good. Get around it.
